LAYOUT PHASE 2 -- PART 2: "The Mache Rock Face and Infrastructure"

The infrastructure of the impressive topography Phase 2.1 was completed by using 2" x 4" risers. Here's how:

1. I bought 6 - 8 foot 2"x 4"
2. I measured them out with the corresponding track, and cut them to size.
3. I nailed them together, making several risers.

4. Then, I used a sheet of OSB and carefully cut out a wider circle to crown the risers, with a jigsaw.

For the majority of the rock work on Phase 2.1, I used a paper mache technique I am perfecting.
Here's how:

1. I made a mixture of 60% glue to 40% water, and stirred.

2. I then used an old, wide paint brush and put sections of newspaper on the cardboard netting I made.

3. Then, I let it dry overnight. The next day, I used a color of acrylic called "burnt sand" and "burnt sunset" for the coloring of the rock face.

4. I applied it to the infrastructure with hot glue, and added scenics, as seen below.
